Boh's a Hit! Dartboard |
Object Name |
Dartboard |
Description |
One National Bohemian cork dartboard and six darts from the National Brewing Company. Dartboard is baseball themed and features Mr. Boh as the pitcher in the middle of the field. A scoreboard is at the bottom, below the game rules and an image of National Bohemian beer glass and bottle. The images cover the cork in red, yellow, black and white paint, with "Boh's A Hit! / The difference is Satisfying Flavor" at the top. There is no manufacturing information aside from "The National Brewing Co. Baltimore, MD Form No. 983" in yellow lettering between the scoreboard and the playing field. These dartboards were used as an advertisements at local bars and pubs; this one was used in the basement of the donor's father, who worked at the National Brewing Company's Highlandtown building. The accompanying darts were manufactured by Haecker Industries of "Philadelphia 23, Pennsylvania". The cardboard box indicates they are Champion "Champ 5-D" darts and are composed of white birch, turkey feathers, a steel and lead balancing weights. The box has red lettering, manufacturing information and the culturally appropriated Champion emblem of a Native American. |
