First of two metal baking pans, likely used to bake ground meat or other small cuts. Pans are likely composed of plated steel formed from a single sheet of metal, which has been cut, bended and crimped along a pre-set pattern. They are each 2.25 inches high, 5 inches wide, and 11 inches in length, with a slight outward slope from the base to the rounded-edge top. Selling their goods through Baltimore’s markets, the Alvey Meat Packing Company produced under a variety of names, including Erdman’s and Reinicker & Alvey. |
