Four Maritime Signal Flags. Flags are used as the International Code of Signals (ICS) in naval communication. 1-2. Two swallowtail shaped flags of white and blue. Flag means "A" or "Alpha". When flown alone it has the following meaning: "I have a diver down; keep well clear at slow speed". Flags are approximately 6' x 5' with slightly frayed edges. A halyard line is attached to one end of the heading. 3-4. One rectangular shaped and one square shaped flag of white with a blue square center. Flags mean "S" or "Sierra". When flown alone it has the following meaning: "I am operating astern propulsion". Flag is approximately 6' x 5' with heavily frayed edges. A halyard line is attached to one end of the heading. |
