One metal Life Boat ration can packed by The Chemical Service Co. This can is gray with the following words written on the front and back in all capital, black lettering "LIFE BOAT AND LIFE RAFT RATIONS PACKED BY THE CHEMICAL SERVICE CO. BALTIMORE, MD. APPROVED BY U.S. COAST GUARD CONTENTS - 1 2/3 QUARTS NET DRINKING WATER". On both sides of the tin in raised lettering, the top of the can says "Punch Here" with an arrow pointing to a circle. Also on the top of the tin in raised lettering it says WATER PACKED 8 28 1945. The top of the can is penetrable. This ration tin was produced during World War II in 1945. |

Tin was found in the house of the donor which was bought from Ester and L. Lawrence Peacock in 1990, whom the donation is dedicated to. The house was built between 1939 and 1940 by previous owners. Donor was suggested to contact BMI by the Immigration Museum. |
